Important: By installing and using Tyre Kicker, you agree to these Terms of Service. This tool is designed for authorized security testing only. Unauthorized use may violate laws and terms of service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, installing, or using the Tyre Kicker Chrome extension ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Tyre Kicker is a browser extension that performs client-side security analysis of web pages. The Service:
- Scans web pages for potential security issues including API keys, credentials, and vulnerabilities
- Detects technology versions and queries public databases for known CVEs
- Provides security scores and reports for authorized testing purposes
- Stores scan results locally in your browser
3. Authorized Use Only
⚠️ Critical Requirement
You must have explicit authorization to scan any website you test with Tyre Kicker.
Authorized use includes:
- ✅ Scanning websites you own or operate
- ✅ Testing with written permission from the website owner
- ✅ Authorized penetration testing engagements
- ✅ Bug bounty programs that explicitly permit automated scanning
- ✅ Educational use on intentionally vulnerable test sites
- ✅ Internal security audits of your organization's applications
Prohibited use includes:
- ❌ Scanning websites without explicit permission
- ❌ Using findings to exploit vulnerabilities
- ❌ Distributing or selling scan results containing sensitive data
- ❌ Circumventing security measures or authentication
- ❌ Violating applicable laws, regulations, or third-party terms of service
- ❌ Using the Service for malicious purposes
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful, authorized security testing
- Verify all findings manually before taking action
- Responsibly disclose vulnerabilities discovered using the Service
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Respect the privacy and rights of website owners and users
- Not use the Service to harm, harass, or defraud others
- Keep your subscription credentials confidential
5. Limitations and Disclaimers
5.1 No Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Scan results will be accurate, complete, or reliable
- All vulnerabilities will be detected
- Detected issues are actual vulnerabilities (false positives may occur)
5.2 False Positives and False Negatives
Tyre Kicker uses pattern matching and heuristics to detect security issues. Results may include:
- False Positives: Flagged items that are not actual security issues
- False Negatives: Missed vulnerabilities that were not detected
All findings must be manually verified before taking action.
5.3 Not a Substitute for Professional Security Audit
Tyre Kicker is a reconnaissance tool and does not replace comprehensive security audits, penetration testing, or professional security services.
6. Subscription and Payment
6.1 Free Tier
- 10 scans per 30-day period
- Full feature access
- Scan count resets automatically every 30 days
6.2 Pro Tier
- $19.00 per month (billed monthly)
- Unlimited scans
- All features included
- Subscription managed via Stripe
6.3 Billing and Cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month
- You may cancel at any time via the Stripe customer portal
- No refunds for partial months
- Access continues until the end of your current billing period after cancellation
- Downgraded accounts revert to free tier limits
6.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be grandfathered at their current rate for 60 days after the price change.
7. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including all software, algorithms, and content, are owned by Tyre Kicker or its licensors. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Remove or modify any proprietary notices
- Create derivative works based on the Service
- Use the Service to build a competing product
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key points:
- Scan results are stored locally in your browser
- We collect only your email address for subscription management
- We do not collect or store scan results on our servers

9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (OR $100 IF GREATER)
- WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM:
- Unauthorized use of the Service
- False positive or false negative results
- Actions taken based on scan results
- Third-party websites or services
- Data breaches or security incidents at scanned sites
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tyre Kicker, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of third parties
- Unauthorized scanning or security testing
11. Termination
11.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Service at any time by:
- Uninstalling the browser extension
- Canceling your subscription (if applicable)
- Contacting support@tyre-kicker.com to delete your account
11.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- We detect unauthorized or malicious use
- Required by law or legal process
- We discontinue the Service (with 30 days' notice)
11.3 Effect of Termination
- Your right to use the Service terminates immediately
- Locally stored scan data is deleted when you uninstall
- Subscription charges stop (no refunds for partial periods)
- Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination
12. Legal Compliance
12.1 Applicable Laws
You must comply with all applicable laws when using the Service, including but not limited to:
- Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) - 18 U.S.C. § 1030 (United States)
- Computer Misuse Act 1990 (United Kingdom)
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (European Union)
- Local cybersecurity and data protection laws in your jurisdiction
12.2 Export Controls
The Service may be subject to export control laws. You agree not to export or re-export the Service in violation of applicable laws.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services:
- Stripe: Payment processing (see Stripe Terms)
- National Vulnerability Database (NVD): Public CVE data (see NVD Terms)
Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via:
- Extension update notes
- Email notification (for subscribers)
- In-app notification
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of [Your State], without regard to conflict of law provisions.
15.2 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through:
- Informal Resolution: Contact support@tyre-kicker.com to attempt resolution
- Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association
- Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions
15.3 Exceptions
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tyre Kicker regarding the Service.
18. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.
19. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or successor without your consent.
